Rebecca Cole
Executive Director
Rebecca Cole serves as the Executive Director at Gaithersburg Beloved Community Initiative (GBCI). Graduating with a degree in Pre-Med/Mathematics and a Master of Divinity, her professional work has centered around non-profits promoting justice, equity and equal opportunities for all. In 2006, she served as a Youth Educator at the Sacred Heart Community Service in San Jose teaching bilingual preschool, after school programs and academic summer camps. During graduate school, Rebecca interned at GBCI where she facilitated community-based research through asset-mapping, appreciative inquiry, focus groups and data collection. She also helped plan the early stages of GBCI’s multi-racial/cultural intergenerational programs. Today, Rebecca works with volunteers at Asbury Methodist Village and community members to provide educational programs in art, literacy, mentorship, English conversation and more to hundreds of youth and families from multicultural backgrounds. In her free time, she is a youth leader for middle and high school students at her local church, a lover of coffee, cooking and salsa dancing.
